Bio
Born in Uxbridge, Ontario, I grew up on a cattle farm just outside of the rural town. I was fortunate enough to have the amazing support of my family and the space to be creative during my adolescent years which led me to my curiosity and interest in fine art. After graduating high school, I headed to Toronto to take on a BFA at the Ontario College of Art and Design; majoring in drawing and painting, graduating in 2004. I have most recently completed an MA at Wimbledon College of Art in the United Kingdom during 2008. During my time in the UK, my work and the way I thought about art was heavily influenced through my travel experience to various European cities; I found citizens tend to take on a more radical approach to political intervention through their work and political voice compared to what I had experienced in North America. I have since returned to Toronto where I continue to exhibit and refine my artistic practice as well as my ability to think critically about what I experience through the filtered lens of today’s mainstream news media.
